Security and Scam Prevention
Protecting Your Wallet
Will Pluto ever ask for my private key?
No. Pluto support will never ask you to send your private key, recovery phrase, password or verification code.
Anyone with access to your private key may be able to take control of your wallet and assets.
How should I protect my wallet?
You should:
- Use a secure email account
- Enable available security protections
- Protect your device with a password or biometric lock
- Never share wallet credentials
- Avoid logging in through links sent by strangers
- Verify official Pluto domains and accounts
- Review every transaction before authorization
Can Pluto freeze my wallet?
No. Pluto cannot freeze your self-custodial wallet or prevent the blockchain from processing an otherwise valid transaction.
Pluto may restrict access to certain features through its interface where required for security, legal or technical reasons.
Phishing and Fake Support
What is phishing?
Phishing is an attempt to steal your login information, wallet credentials or assets by pretending to be a trusted person or company.
A phishing attempt may use:
- Fake websites
- Impersonated support accounts
- Direct messages
- Emails
- Search advertisements
- Fake wallet-connect pages
- Malicious applications
How do I identify fake Pluto support?
Pluto support will never:
- Contact you to request your private key
- Ask you to move assets to a “safe” wallet
- Ask you to pay a fee to unlock your account
- Ask you to authorize an unrelated transaction
- Promise guaranteed profits or returns
Use only the support contact information displayed in Pluto or on Pluto’s official website.
Are Pluto giveaways legitimate?
Be cautious of accounts claiming that you must send crypto, connect your wallet or reveal credentials to receive a reward.
Confirm every promotion through Pluto’s official website or verified social accounts.
What should I do with an unexpected token or NFT?
Do not interact with an unexpected token, NFT, link or claim page unless you have independently verified it.
Malicious assets may direct you to phishing websites or encourage you to authorize unsafe transactions.
Compromised Wallets
What should I do if I think my wallet is compromised?
Act immediately:
- Stop interacting with suspicious websites or applications.
- Use a trusted device.
- Create or obtain access to another secure wallet.
- Transfer remaining assets to the secure wallet where possible.
- Review recent blockchain activity.
- Contact Pluto support to report the incident.
Pluto cannot reverse transactions that have already been confirmed.
Can Pluto recover stolen assets?
No. Pluto cannot reverse blockchain transactions or retrieve assets controlled by another wallet.
You may report the incident to relevant law-enforcement agencies, blockchain-analysis services or the platforms involved.
