Fees and Transaction Costs
Pluto Trading Fees
What fees apply when I trade?
Each eligible buy with Cash or sale into Cash may include:
- Platform fee: 0.45% of the trade amount.
- Blockchain fees: Variable costs associated with preparing, sponsoring and executing the transaction on Solana.
The applicable platform fee and blockchain fees are displayed before you authorize the trade.
What is the 0.45% platform fee?
Pluto charges a platform fee equal to 0.45% of the trade amount on each eligible buy or sell. For example, on a trade valued at 100 Cash (100 USDC), the platform fee would be 0.45 USDC.
The platform fee supports Pluto’s interface, infrastructure, security, market data, wallet integration, customer support and continued product development.
What are blockchain fees?
Blockchain fees are variable costs associated with preparing, sponsoring and executing your transaction on Solana.
The blockchain fees shown by Pluto may include:
- Solana network fees
- Priority or transaction-processing fees
- Associated token-account creation costs
- Transaction preparation and execution costs
- Other blockchain-related costs required for the transaction
Blockchain fees are not fixed and may differ between transactions.
Why do blockchain fees change?
Each blockchain transaction may require different resources.
Blockchain fees can vary depending on:
- Whether you have traded or received the token before
- Whether a new associated token account must be created
- Solana network conditions
- Transaction complexity
- Priority-fee requirements
- The execution route
- Other blockchain-related requirements at the time of the transaction
The applicable blockchain fees are displayed in the transaction preview before authorization.
What is an associated token account?
Solana normally requires a separate associated token account, commonly called an ATA, for each type of token held by a wallet.
If your wallet does not already have the required token account, one may need to be created as part of the transaction. The creation cost may be included in the blockchain fees shown before authorization.
Once the required token account exists, a later transaction involving the same token may result in lower blockchain fees.
Does Pluto sponsor blockchain fees?
Pluto may pay certain blockchain-related costs on your behalf so that you do not need to hold SOL separately to complete an eligible transaction.
Where Pluto sponsors these costs, the applicable amount may be included in the blockchain fees displayed before you authorize the transaction.
Do repeated trades have the same blockchain fees?
Not necessarily.
A first trade involving a token may require the creation of an associated token account. Later trades involving the same token may not require that account to be created again.
Blockchain fees may still vary because of network conditions, transaction complexity, priority-fee requirements and other execution-related costs.
Where can I see the fees before trading?
Before authorizing a trade, Pluto displays the available transaction breakdown, including:
- The Cash amount used for a buy or the expected Cash amount from a sell
- The 0.45% platform fee
- The applicable blockchain fees
- The estimated asset amount you will receive on a buy
- Available price-impact information
- Available slippage information
Do not authorize the transaction unless you have reviewed and accepted the displayed details.
Is price impact a Pluto fee?
No. Price impact is not a fee paid to Pluto.
Price impact is the effect your transaction has on the price available from the relevant liquidity pools. Larger transactions and assets with lower liquidity usually have greater price impact.
Is slippage a Pluto fee?
No. Slippage is not a fee paid to Pluto.
Slippage is the difference between the expected transaction price and the price at which the trade executes. It can occur because prices and liquidity change while a transaction is being processed.
Are deposit and cash-out fees included?
No. Fees charged by MoonPay, Crossmint, banks, card issuers, Apple Pay, payment networks or cash-out providers are separate from Pluto’s 0.45% platform fee and blockchain fees.
The applicable provider should display its fees, exchange rate and expected purchase or payout amount before you confirm the provider transaction.
Can blockchain fees still apply if a transaction fails?
A failed swap will not normally exchange your Cash or asset.
However, blockchain-related costs may still be incurred when a transaction is submitted or processed, even if the intended swap does not complete. Where applicable, those costs may be included in the blockchain fees or paid by Pluto.
