Adding Cash
How do I add Cash?
You can add Cash in three ways:
- Purchase USDC through MoonPay using an available payment method.
- Purchase USDC with Apple Pay through Crossmint, where available.
- Send USDC using the Solana network from another wallet or platform to your wallet address. Once the USDC reaches your wallet, Pluto displays it as Cash. You may also send other assets that Pluto identifies as supported, but those assets remain separate holdings unless you sell them into Cash.
Always confirm the asset, wallet address and blockchain network before completing a transfer.
How do I purchase Cash using fiat currency?
Select Deposit or Add Cash and choose an available payment method.
MoonPay provides Pluto’s primary fiat purchase flow. Apple Pay purchases are provided through Crossmint. The applicable provider converts your fiat payment into USDC and delivers it to your self-custodial wallet, where Pluto displays it as Cash.
The provider flow will display the payment method, fees, exchange rate, estimated Cash amount, limits and any verification steps before you confirm. Availability depends on factors such as your country, currency, transaction amount, device, bank and eligibility.
Does Pluto sell me Cash?
No. Cash is the label Pluto uses for supported USDC in your wallet. Pluto provides access to integrated third-party ramp services but does not sell USDC or process your fiat payment.
The applicable MoonPay entity processes purchases made through MoonPay. Crossmint or its applicable regulated service provider processes Apple Pay purchases made through Crossmint. The provider is responsible for payment processing, identity verification, transaction approval, conversion and delivery of USDC to your wallet.
Which terms apply when I add Cash?
Your fiat-to-USDC transaction is governed by the terms and disclosures of the provider used for that transaction:
- MoonPay’s applicable Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, risk disclosures and transaction disclosures for purchases made through MoonPay
- Crossmint’s applicable Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and transaction disclosures for Apple Pay purchases made through Crossmint
- Any additional terms imposed by your bank, card issuer, digital-wallet provider, payment network or other provider involved in the transaction
The provider and applicable transaction documents should be identified or made available in the provider flow before you confirm. Review them carefully. Pluto is not a party to the agreement between you and MoonPay, Crossmint or another payment provider.
Official provider documents:
- MoonPay Legal Centre and applicable Terms of Use
- MoonPay Global Privacy Policy
- MoonPay Risk Disclosures
- MoonPay Help Centre
- Crossmint Terms of Service for Regulated Crypto-Asset Services
- Crossmint Privacy Policy
- Crossmint Onramp Information
Does Pluto process my card, bank or Apple Pay payment?
No. MoonPay processes the payment methods offered through the MoonPay flow, while Crossmint processes Apple Pay purchases offered through the Crossmint flow.
Pluto does not receive or store your complete card number, bank-account credentials or Apple Pay payment credentials. The applicable provider is responsible for processing your payment, completing any required verification and delivering USDC to your wallet, where it is displayed as Cash.
Why am I being asked to verify my identity?
MoonPay or Crossmint may require identity verification, tax information, source-of-funds information or wallet-ownership confirmation to comply with applicable laws, payment-network requirements and internal risk controls.
The information requested, verification standard and approval decision are determined by the applicable provider rather than Pluto. Requirements may vary by country, transaction amount, payment method and account history.
Which payment methods can I use to add Cash?
Pluto currently uses Crossmint for Apple Pay and MoonPay for other supported methods of adding Cash and converting Cash to fiat.
- Apple Pay - provided through Crossmint, where available
- Credit and debit cards - provided through MoonPay, where available
- Google Pay - provided through MoonPay on supported devices, where available
- Bank transfers and regional bank-payment methods - provided through MoonPay, where available
- PayPal, Venmo, Revolut Pay and other regional methods - provided through MoonPay where supported
Only the payment methods displayed to you in the relevant provider flow are available for your transaction. Availability can change based on your location, currency, device, bank, transaction type and provider requirements.
What fees apply when adding Cash?
MoonPay or Crossmint may charge transaction fees and apply an exchange rate or spread. Your bank, card issuer, digital-wallet provider or payment network may also charge additional fees.
Before confirming the transaction, review:
- The fiat amount you will pay
- The provider’s fees
- The exchange rate or quoted conversion rate
- The amount of USDC that will be added to your wallet and displayed as Cash
- Any additional card, bank, Apple Pay or payment-method charges
Provider fees for adding Cash are separate from Pluto’s 0.45% platform fee and the blockchain fees shown for eligible on-chain trades. Pluto does not determine or control the fees charged by MoonPay, Crossmint, banks, card issuers or payment networks.
Depositing Cash and Other Assets
How do I add Cash from another wallet?
To add Cash from another wallet or platform, open Pluto, select Deposit or Add Cash, and copy your wallet address.
In the sending wallet or platform:
- Choose supported USDC.
- Select the Solana network.
- Paste your wallet address.
- Review the token, address, network and amount.
- Confirm the transfer.
Once confirmed on Solana, the supported USDC will appear in Pluto as Cash. Consider sending a small test transaction before making a large transfer.
Which assets can I deposit?
To add Cash, deposit the supported USDC token using the Solana network.
You may also send other assets that Pluto identifies as supported. Those assets appear as holdings and do not become Cash unless you sell them into Cash.
The same asset may exist on multiple blockchains. An asset supported on Solana is not automatically supported when sent through Ethereum, Bitcoin, Base, BNB Chain or another network.
Can I send native Bitcoin to my Solana address?
No. Do not send native BTC through the Bitcoin network to a Solana wallet address.
A Bitcoin-related asset displayed on Pluto may be a Solana-based wrapped or tokenized representation. It is not native BTC on the Bitcoin blockchain.
Can I send ETH using the Ethereum network?
No, unless Pluto specifically displays support for that network and deposit method.
Pluto currently operates on Solana. Sending Ethereum-network assets directly to a Solana address may result in permanent loss.
How long does a crypto deposit take?
Deposit times depend on the sending platform, the selected network and current blockchain conditions.
Once a supported USDC transfer has been confirmed on Solana, Pluto should display it as Cash. Other supported assets should appear in your holdings. Some balance displays may take additional time to refresh.
Why is my fiat deposit still pending?
A Cash purchase may remain pending while MoonPay or Crossmint:
- Processes the payment
- Completes identity or compliance checks
- Reviews the transaction
- Waits for bank, card or Apple Pay confirmation
- Obtains blockchain confirmation
- Delivers USDC to your wallet
Once delivered, the USDC is displayed in Pluto as Cash. Check your confirmation email or transaction screen to identify whether MoonPay or Crossmint processed the purchase. Use that provider’s transaction status or support option for order-specific assistance.
Why did my deposit fail?
A Cash purchase may fail because of:
- A declined card, bank or Apple Pay payment
- Incorrect or incomplete payment information
- Provider transaction limits
- Identity-verification or compliance requirements
- An unsupported country, currency or payment method
- A provider security or fraud review
- A temporary MoonPay, Crossmint, banking or network outage
- A rejection by your bank, card issuer or payment network
MoonPay or Crossmint controls the approval or rejection of the provider transaction. Check the provider’s status or support channel for the specific reason, where available.
